Congratulations to Kate our Intern
Kate set for the Dock Museum
We are absolutely delighted that Caitlin Barrett our Collections Intern has secured the role of Collections and Exhibitions Manager Temporary/Maternity cover at the Dock Museum in Barrow in Furness.
Caitlin Barrett Top Left.
Kate joined us in August 2014 on a six month paid position under the Creative Employment Programme which is designed to get 18 to 24 year olds into work.
Since being with us Kate has transformed the Kendal and Westmoreland gallery by redisplaying and reinterpreting the archaeology and social history. Her other duties included collections management and care of objects in store, updating records and working with and supervising the museum’s volunteers and students.
Carol Davies Museum Curator Manager said "it is wonderful that Kate has secured a museum role where she will be working with collection material, her dream job. Our training and support in her internship has assisted with her progression onto the next level of her career. The Museum Team are all so proud of her".
Kate finishes up her internship in Kendal Museum mid-February before moving onto the Dock Museum.
It has been an absolute pleasure to work with Kate and the museum team will miss you very much.
