Holiday Activities
Young Archaeologists’s Club
Why not come along and try one of our holiday activities? They’re fun and you’ll learn something new too!

Apart from learning about all the interesting objects on display, you can also:
- Try one of our quizzes or trail sheets
- See a dinosaur footprint
- Have a go at identifying Roman pottery and try on some Roman sandals
- Make a medieval tiled floor
- Do some coin rubbing
- Play a slate xylophone
- Identify natural history items
- Use our touch screen to learn more about Queen Katherine Parr and Kendal Castle. You can meet various residents of Kendal who will tell you what life was like 500 years ago. Ask them questions such as “Who were the Barons?”, “Why was the Castle built?”, “Did Queen Katherine Parr visit the Castle?” and “How do you keep the Castle clean?” Find out what Kendal looked like from the Castle 400 years ago.
