Young Archaeologists’s Club
Why not come along and try one of our holiday activities? They’re fun and you’ll learn something new too!

The Young Archaeologist's Club is for 9 to 16 year olds. We meet on one Saturday a month, usually at Kendal Museum, and at present we are involved in a 'Back to the Stone Age' project sponsored by the Cumberland and Westmorland Antiquarian and Archaeological Society.
In this project we have been flint knapping and we will be visiting Cumbrian Stone circles and discovering what life was like in our county 5,000 or more years ago.
Apart from learning about all the interesting objects on display, you can also:
- Try one of our quizzes or trail sheets
- See a dinosaur footprint
- Have a go at identifying Roman pottery and try on some Roman sandals
- Make a medieval tiled floor
- Do some coin rubbing
- Play a slate xylophone
- Identify natural history items
