The Auld Grey Town
15th October 2011 - 20th January 2012

The Auld Grey Town is a new exhibition of original work by Green Door artists, exploring the life and vitality of Kendal. The exhibition is housed in the upstairs gallery of Kendal Museum and runs in conjunction with 'The Kendal Story', the Museum's main temporary exhibition.
Green Door is a self-managed, not-for-profit artists' co-operative, committed to bringing artists together and making contemporary art accessible to local residents and visitors to the area. To achieve this, the group runs a variety of events, from exhibitions in local venues such as Kendal Museum and social get-togethers, to the annual Green Door Art Trail – now in its 7th year and a great way to meet and talk to Green Door artists and buy work direct.
Today, Green Door has an extended membership of 95 artists drawn from throughout South Lakeland and the surrounding area and working across all artforms. Anyone can join Green Door – whether you're an established artist or someone just starting out on your creative journey; the key thing for Green Door is supporting each other along the way and providing opportunities to network, exhibit and get involved in the arts community. Green Door Studios is supported by South Lakeland District Council
