Kendal Museum hosts a variety of temporary exhibitions throughout the season, in both the temporary exhibition gallery and within the permanent exhibition areas. Please contact us on 01539 885597 or info@kendalmuseum.org.uk for the full programme and details of temporary exhibitions.

Unfortunately the temporary exhibition area and the Lake District Natural History Gallery are not accessible to wheelchair users.

Kendal College Art Exhibition - Go Local

11 February - 10 March 2012 

Go Local is an exhibition showcasing the diversity and high standard of work being produced by the art and design students at Kendal College. Students have responded to the Go Local theme through a variety of different disciplines and approaches, ranging from contemporary fine art to graphic design. The exhibition includes Foundation Studies in Art and Design and Foundation Degree in Drawing students.

An exhibition of drawings by John Davies of canal bridges in the Kendal area.


Rock Solid

24 March – 16 June 2012       

An exhibition of specially created artworks based on Lakeland Geology.   Lakeland geology is of intense interest as it is being considered for the geological disposal of high level nuclear wastes. Associated with the exhibition will be lectures and workshops examining this topic.
