The Mini Inspiration

Children’s Art Competition 2010

Kendal Museum has hosted ‘The Big Inspiration’ with artwork produced by Green Door Studios and inspired by the museum collection. Now we are having ‘The Mini Inspiration’ – a competition and exhibition of artwork by children of their favourite item in the museum collection.

We have thousands of objects to choose from, such as our Polar bear, Egyptian necklaces, Roman pottery and even a Viking sword!

The competition will run from Thursday 1 July to Saturday 25 September.

An exhibition of all the entries will be displayed in the museum from Saturday 10 July until Thursday 30 September. Museum entry will be free from 16 July until September 4 so bring along your family to see your masterpiece!

All materials will be supplied and competition entry is free. Pick up drawing material at the front desk, choose your object and get drawing. Entries must be handed in at the front desk or to a member of the museum staff.

Entries must be in by Saturday 25 July 2010 and winners notified the week of 4 October. There are 3 age categories: 5 and under – 6 to 11 – 12 to 16. There will be a 1st, 2nd and 3rd prize in each category plus a certificate.
