Young Archaeologists’ Club


The YAC is a club for 8 -17 year olds interested in archaeology. We meet once a month on a Saturday morning, usually at Kendal Museum, although we do have trips and we the opportunity to take part in a dig in the summer.

Dates for 2018 monthly meets are:

13th January: Battlefield Archaeology

10th February: Marine Archaeology

10th March: Crime and Punishment

21st April: Remedies

12th May: First World War - Field hospitals and the ambulance service

16th June: Setting up your own museum

21st July: We will coordinate going to the Viking Gathering at Heysham
(For your information, there is another VIking Gathering on the 18th and 19th August at Lowther Castle)

8th September: Slaves through history

20th October: Romans and British Culture

10th November: 17th century celebrating (ready for our Christmas break with gear, masks, dancing and music as well as some food)
